Essential Tips for Efficient Use of Tensioning Equipment
1. Before use, check the working load and applicable range indicated on the chain and chain sling tags. Overloading is strictly prohibited. Conduct a visual inspection of the chain sling; only use it if it passes inspection.
2. Under normal operating conditions, the lifting angle significantly affects the load capacity. The maximum angle between the hook and the sling must not exceed 120 degrees; otherwise, localized overloading of the chain sling may occur.
3. Non-standard connecting components must not be used to Link Chains together.
4. Load-bearing chain slings must not be directly attached to or wrapped around crane hook components.
5. Temperature has a significant impact on the performance of chain slings. Rated load capacity applies within a temperature range of -40°C to 200°C. Between 200°C and 300°C, the allowable load is 90% of the rated capacity; between 300°C and 400°C, it is reduced to 75%. Use is prohibited above 400°C. (Note: This point was repeated in the original text.)
6. The Lifting Point of the crane hook must align vertically with the center of gravity of the load to ensure stable equilibrium, preventing sliding or tipping during lifting.
7. Chains must not be twisted, bent, or knotted. Adjacent links should move freely and smoothly.
8. When lifting loads, raise, lower, and stop slowly and steadily. Pay attention to maintaining balance of the load's center of gravity to avoid shock loads. Do not leave heavy loads suspended on the lifting chain for extended periods.
9. Handle chain slings gently—never drop, strike, or drag them on the ground. Prevent falls from heights to avoid deformation and surface or internal damage to the chain.
10. When wrapping chain slings around sharp edges of the load, use padding to protect both the chain and the load from damage.
